Trailer for your Weekend: Horns

horns poster

Buzz has been building around Horns (2013) for a fair while now, and it only increased after this trailer dropped at last month’s Comic Con. I love the very real grounding that the trailer starts with. Young love, the pain of it taken away and the suspicion immediately falling on the victim’s partner. So far so crime fiction. But then it flips and all of a sudden Harry Potter has devil horns growing out of his head and is understandably wondering what in the hell is going on. The film leaves it relatively unclear where the film will go from there and I am cool with that. I will definitely be avoiding spoilers before seeing this one, which I am ultra keen to do.

  1. Looks good, I reckon that’s worth going to the cinema for

    1. Yeah I am pretty keen too. Could be a pretty original entry into the horror genre.

      1. I have seen Transcendence, Lucy and Divergent recently, I think I enjoyed Divergent the most, Lucy second and Transcendence least of the three though none were that good IMO. So as a reward I watched the directors cut of Blade Runner again, still a great film

      2. Haha, that is a fair reward. Tis a great film and definitely the Director’s cut. I can’t believe there are still some people out there who reckon the theatrical release is better. Worst. Voiceover. Ever.

I would rank those three films the same as you. Though I would say that I actually think Divergent is a pretty darn good film. Or perhaps I was just surprised because I had really low expectations of just a shoddy Hunger Games knock-off. And there is a little of that, but plenty more as well.

  2. This looks goooooood! I’ll be looking out for this one.

    1. Same Laura. I have high hopes. Radcliffe is a really interesting actor and so is the premise. Have you read the book?

  3. So looking forward to this. Looks fantastic!

    1. Agreed man. Intrigued to see how it turns out.

  4. The book is good so i’m interested in how this turns out

    1. Ah cool. Glad to hear from someone who has read the book. Might try and check it out before the film opens.
