There seems to be little middle ground in the reactions to this first Dumb and Dumber To (2014) trailer. People either outright hate it with a passion or seem ultra enthused with the humour contained. I think I fall into the rare middle ground. I loved the joke at the start explaining the time lapse between the first film and this one. But then it sort of regressed into solely consisting of jokes that were lifted unchanged from the first film. Oh and a truly crass sequence involving an elderly woman. I don’t mind the recycling of jokes, because you would expect those beats to reappear throughout the film. I just hope the Farellys haven’t lost sight of the rambunctious silliness that made the first such a classic for people around my age and don’t make just another crass comedy that are a dime a dozen these days. What do you all think about this one?

I’m the same as you. Some parts were good, some were embarrassing. i really dont know what to think!
I’m expecting plenty of both of those things in the final film. Hopefully there are a few more good bits rather than embarrassing ones.
Yeeeeeaaaahhh i”m not entirely sure what to think about the granny joke. That might have honestly been a step over the line, even for Dumb and Dumber standards!! I’m still pretty excited about this, though. Even if it’s a near carbon-copy to the style of the first story, new jokes and more time spent with these buffoons is always time well spent in my book. 🙂
Thanks for commenting Tom. Well I loved the first film, so I guess if this is a carbon copy of that, I won’t mind it. But yeah, that granny joke was a little too crass aye.
I’m in the middle too. Some laughs but overall it’s too stupid for its own good. And that Granny scene was too much.
I agree man, too much for me too. Hopefully this one can be a fun throwback to the first.
We’ll see.
I don’t know what to think about this. A part of me says “Don’t mess with a comedy classic”. Another part wants to see this great pair again. Still there is big concern and I just don’t know…
I think you basically summed everyone’s concerns up perfectly there Keith. I think there is potential here for it to be a hell of a lot of fun… or cringeworthy and unwatchable.
The beginning is classic! I laughed out loud. As for the rest……eh….could go either way I suppose. I will keep my fingers crossed…
Yeah I am the same man. My favourite joke was definitely the very first one.
