I thought I would throw a couple of live tweet reviews in this Fortnight of Terror to mix things up a bit. After The IPC suggested it would be “greatness” if I did a live tweet review of All The Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006), I thought that was a pretty good place to start. Here is how it turned out. Share your thoughts on the film in the comments section below.
Brace yourself @theipcdotme. "Greatness" is coming… #mandytweet

Getting my live tweet on for A Fortnight of Terror, checking out ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE. Any of you seen it? #mandytweet

This film became kind of mythical in the states… not so much everywhere else cause it actually got released #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Also, the fact I am sitting on my arse tweeting about a horror film on a Monday arvo is reason 48,567 I love working 4 day weeks #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Cliche high school characters. So hard to pick if that is ironic or not these days. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Dialogue is actually pretty sharp in this flim. Loving this manipulative best friend guy #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
My brother always used to jump off our roof into the pool and he didn't die. My bro>generic American high school film jock #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Lots of gratuitous Amber Herd boob shots in this film. Nothing ironic about that. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Sister Golden Hair cover on the soundtrack! Plus 1 billion points. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Sorry cocked that last tweet up. Should have said plus 1 trillion points #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
This director is quite fond of a close-up. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
"I have respect for the woman." Yep a character just said that. Then asks permission to hold Mandy's hand so you know he's legit #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Tis helpful that Mandy feels the need to constantly repeat her surname. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
That Garth guy is totally the vicious murderer. Which means in an insane twist ending, he will actually be the vicious murderer. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Speaking of vicious murder. 30 mins in and not one brutal slaying yet. An outrage! Not even a hint of decapitation #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Seriously though, someone better lose a head. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Girl alone in the woods. Odds on a decapitation just came into 2 to 1. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Well that gun induced dislocated jaw to death was brutal. Not a even a decapitation either. Boo. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Wait hang on. She's still alive. Possible still going to lose a head. Especially now the power went out. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
These teens sure don't know how to party. No one is enjoying themselves. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
I hope they kill this prettyboy jock dude next. Cut his head off good and proper #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Even this film's resident stoner is no fun. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Scrap that, he's just busted out a stoned Sister Golden Hair cover. Plus 2 trillion points. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Oh hey that guy is the killer… way to give away the not very interesting twist halfway through the film. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Amber Heard is usually pretty decent, but she's pretty bland and boring in this. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
I don't mean to harp on about it, but if you are going to have a really average twist ending, at least put it at the ending. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Film is weirdly petering out right when it should be ramping up. Weird that they bought it back into daytime for the conclusion #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Oh please. Not even the horniest of teens would stop for a quick pash whilst running from an armed madman. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Meh. That twist upon twist should have been awesome. Falls massively flat though. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Erm. The actions of Mandy Lane at the end of this film make less than zero sense. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
The ironic soundtrack has been done so many times. And so many times better (Sister Golden Hair aside of course) #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Film is a fair disappointment overall. Spectacularly muddled ending. What are we meant to feel for the main character? #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
As a whole, don’t think the film knows if it wants to be a really excellent slasher flick, or subvert the genre. #mandytweet
— Tim @ Beermovie.net (@beer_movie) October 21, 2013
Verdict: Schooner of Carlton Draught #mandytweet

Sorry I missed your tweets. I would of told you not only had I seen it, but I loved it!! I reviewed it a while back, and its good to see it finally getting some kind of release 🙂
It is a film that seems to have divided opinion a fair bit. Some love it, whilst others like myself were a little underwhelmed.
Teehee, very fun to read. Definitely far more entertaining than the watch. It was just… well whatever you know?
Haha, yep that is about it. Just a bit average I thought. Thanks for commenting.
🙂 anytime.
I rather enjoyed the fick…not the best, but still good.
It started relatively strongly for me… but then sort of just petered out. But there are plenty of folk who agree with you
I didn’t know about the release fiasco in the US! Good tweeting 🙂
Cheers mate, thanks for commenting
EXCELLENCE!!
Thankyou sir
Yeah, this is a film you can’t build up at all if you want someone to enjoy it. I stumbled on it. Liked it
It was decent to a certain point. But just fell short in the end for me.
