So… You Know of Any Cool Features?

I’ll acknowledge that the title of this post is really rather cryptic. However basically what I want to know is if you know of any cool features that could be possibly be shown in a film festival I am working on (The Blue Mountains Film Festival) which will be happening in early October this year.

The coveted Yowie Awards which films compete for at the festival.

The coveted Yowie Awards which films compete for at the festival.

Criteria wise, the films must have been completed after 1 January 2012 and not have had a commercial release in Australia prior to October 2013. The films definitely do not have to be Australian. So hit me up in the comments section or at tim.bluemountainsfilmfestival@gmail.com if you have any thoughts. I am keen for all kinds of films – things you have seen at festivals recently, films which only got small releases wherever you are, indie films, things you have spotted on crowdfunding sites, films you have made yourself. Please feel free to re-blog this or pass the above email address on to anyone you know of with a cool flick.

Cheers all, you guys are the best.

    1. Cheers, films don’t have to be Australian so I will check it out.

  3. I was the Programming Coordinator for the Florida Film Festival for the 2007 festival (since then, I am not just a committee member who picks out of the films in either the Documentary or International category). Your best bet is to check out the list of films that have played other recent festivals (like this year’s Sundance catalog) and find out how to contact the filmmakers. You can then request they send you their film. Sometimes, to get films submitted, you have to do a lot of contacting work. It’s annoying at times, but it does pay off. Best of luck!

    1. Cheers for the tips sir. I have been keeping a vague eye on other festival lineups, but might have a more systematic look. Sundance catalogue is definitely a good call. I have been doing a lot of legwork in terms of contacting production/distribution companies. So hopefully that gets some films coming in for me.

      Thanks again for commenting.

  4. Shared this on twitter, you never know someone out there may have something 🙂

    1. Cheers man, appreciate that. What’s your twitter handle by the way? I need to get back into the habit of using my account.

      1. It’s @MrRumsey
Would be good to see you on there.
